The Quartz Grindstone (aka: Quartz Grind Stone/ Grind Stone) is a machine block added by the Applied Energistics 2 mod. It is a great early game alternative to the Macerator or the Pulverizer, but it is powered manually, making ore grinding a tedious process. In order to use it, a Wooden Crank must be put on top of the Grindstone. Then crank must be rotated by 'Right-clicking'. It takes 8 crank turns to process one piece of ore into dust. The wooden crank will break after being used a certain number of times leaving no output from current operation and dropping 2 sticks.
