The Quantum Chest can be thought of as GregTech's take on the Barrel, but with a much more expensive recipe and greater storage capacity. The Quantum Chest can store 2 billion of the same type of item (e.g. Cobblestone) but cannot store more than one type of item, much as a Barrel can.

The Chest cannot store items that do not stack (e.g. pickaxes or other tools) and has an internal filter that prevents items that are incompatible with the preexisting items from being pumped in.

The Quantum Chest does not function properly if there are less than three items inside it, displaying that there are zero items even if there are more.

If liquid storage instead of item storage is desired, the Quantum Chest can be upgraded to a Quantum Tank.
