The Redwood Sapling is a block added by the Natura mod. It can be obtained by harvesting Redwood Leaves found growing on giant Redwood trees in grassy biomes such as Plains. A single Sapling will grow a Redwood tree 7×7, so it is best to plant Saplings at least 8 to 10m apart. Bone Meal can be used to accelerate growth, but by doing so the Player will be entombed by the tree trunk and will have to quickly break free or suffocate. A full grown tree is made up of 3 types of wood block, Redwood, Redwood Bark (outer layer) and Redwood Root (below ground level). The tree grows roots up to 18 blocks into the ground replacing the blocks that were there. It is advised not to grow the sapling where the shade could interfere with sunlight dependant systems such as a solar energy generating array.

Biomes O' Plenty[edit]

Biomes O' Plenty Redwood Sapling has to be placed in a 4×4 square (16 Saplings) to grow [1]. Using a Watering Can or Bone Meal may turn it into a Sacred Oak Sapling.

ExtrabiomesXL[edit]

The ExtrabiomesXL Redwood Saplings can to planted in a 2×2 square.

Usage[edit]

Redwood Sapling has no known uses in crafting.

Note[edit]

  1. Prior to version 0.5.9.2, Saplings had to be planted in a Rhombus shape, at least 5 wide at the apex.

Trivia[edit]

The trees grown from these saplings make a great tree-house.
