The Brass Ingot is an alloy ingot used in various recipes from Professor Flaxbeard's Wondrous Steam Power Mod, GregTech and RedPower 2.

In GregTech and Flaxbeard's Steam Power, Brass is made up of Copper and Zinc at a 3:1 ratio and can be created by mixing dusts, with an Alloy Smelter or in a Crucible. With RedPower 2 however it is made up of Copper and Tin at a 3:1 ratio, just like Bronze, but instead has to be created in an Alloy Furnace.

Recipe

• Crucible: 3x Copper + 1x Zinc = 4x Brass
• Induction Smelter: Sand + 2x Brass Dust or 2x Brass Blend = 2x Brass Ingot + 1x Slag (25% chance)
• Induction Smelter: 1x Zinc Ingot + 3x Copper Dust or Copper Ingot = 4x Brass Ingot

Uses

Flaxbeard's Steam Power

Brass is required to create almost all of the mod's blocks, machines, items and tools. This includes basic components, like the Brass Plate, Brass Piston and Pipe, but also machines themselves, such as the Item Mortar or Steam Hammer. In addition Brass can be used to create regular tools.

GregTech

Brass can also be used in place of Bronze Ingots when creating Mixed Metal Ingots. Depending on how the alloys are created, Brass may be more efficient to use than Bronze, but with more advanced machinery like the Alloy Smelter both materials are equally easy to create. The only difference between the two is that Brass requires Zinc instead of Tin.

RedPower 2

Brass is mainly used in the creation of Pneumatic Tubes, RedPower 2's item transport system, and devices such as the Frame Motor and the Retriever.
