Desert Hives, when mined with any Scoop, will always drop a Modest Bee princess. They will also often drop a Modest Bee drone, and have a chance of dropping Parched Comb. When mined with anything other than a Scoop, the hive will break and drop nothing. Desert Hives can be found in Desert biomes and some desert-like biomes from ExtrabiomesXL. Like all the other hives, Desert Hives emit a low level of light, and are therefore easier to spot during the night.
