Copper Cable is a type of Cable added by IndustrialCraft2. It is the second lowest tier of cable and can handle only Low Voltage (before Minecraft 1.6) or Medium Voltage (since Minecraft 1.6) at a moderate energy loss rate. Insulated Copper Cable can be painted with a Painter. It is used in many IC2 recipes, most notably the Electronic Circuit.

Energy[edit]
Copper Cable can handle a maximum of 32 EU/t (Low Voltage). Any higher rate will destroy the cable. This cable has a moderate distance-related energy loss, but because it can conduct only little power energy dissipates quickly.
As of Minecraft 1.6 and IndustrialCraft2 Experimental the maximum voltage has been increased to 128 EU/p, or Medium Voltage.
Cable type | Loss (EU/b) | Loss (EU/n blocks) |
---|---|---|
Uninsulated Copper Cable | 0.3 | 1 EU every 3.33 blocks |
Insulated Copper Cable | 0.2 | 1 EU every 5 blocks |
Before Minecraft 1.6, an easy way to avoid energy loss with Insulated Copper Cable is to place a BatBox after every four pieces of cable.
