Encased Towerwood is a type of block found in Dark Towers. Many of these can be found in one of these towers, but they can also be crafted with Towerwood Planks. Although difficult to harvest with an Advanced Chainsaw or similar tool (as both Encased Towerwood and Towerwood Planks are approximately as durable as Obsidian) this may be a worthwhile venture, as these blocks are very durable and would serve well as a method of constructing a base which is less vulnerable to griefing.

A Vajra will still break both Encased Towerwood and Towerwood Planks in a single hit due to its very powerful nature, as the code for the Vajra specifies that it can break any and all blocks in one hit regardless of block hardness.

Both Encased Towerwood and Towerwood Planks are invulnerable to Fire and will not burn. While the top face of the block will burn, the block cannot be destroyed by Fire and the fire will eventually go out. None of the other block faces can be ignited.

Even though Encased Towerwood is as durable as Obsidian, it can still be destroyed by a Mining Laser, while Obsidian cannot. This attribute is shared by Towerwood Planks.

Encased Towerwood is used in crafting encased fire jets and encased smoking block.
