Lich Tower

This article is about the tower found in the Twilight Forest made out of Stone Brick and containing a Lich. You may be looking for the tower found in the Twilight Forest made out of Wooden Planks that is currently a work-in-progress and not in use by the mod.

The Lich Tower is a tower found in the Twilight Forest. They are large castles made out of Stone Bricks and Birch Wood Planks/Slabs. The Lich Tower is organized symmetrically across a diagonal line of symmetry, yet it is easily possible to get lost within the Tower due to the winding staircases, the dozens of offshoot rooms (generally not profitable to explore; the most advisable course of action is to climb the stairwell and head straight for the top room) and the sheer darkness of the tower.

In the central shaft of the tower (a square of ~10 blocks width) there are two spiral staircases, one made of stone and one made of wood. Steps are missing as well as guardrails, posing a fall damage danger to those without charged Quantum Boots or Long Fall Boots to negate fall damage. Death Tomes, Zombies and Skeletons also spawn from spawners and naturally within the tower and can push the player off the stairs. Both of the spiral staircases are connected by central bridges approximately every 16 vertical meters. At the top is a room made of wood with a glass floor with walls covered in paintings containing a Lich.

The Lich Fight[edit]

The fight is divided into three main stages. The first is where the Lich spawns two skeletal minions, each with a Scepter of Twilight to cast Ender Pearl projectiles. The Lich also uses the Scepter of Twilight function of his omni-scepter in this phase of the battle. The Ender Pearl projectiles must be reflected back at the Lich, to take down his shields. Or if you have already killed a lich and have acquired a life draining scepter then you can use that to easy rip hrough the lich's shields. Once the shields are destroyed, stage two begins.

During stage two, the Lich spawns zombie minions, utilizing the Zombie Scepter function of his omni-scepter. In stage two, the player must defeat the zombie minions that have been summoned and begin to melee the lich, which triggers the Lich to initiate stage three of the Lich fight.

During stage three, the Lich uses the ranged function of his Scepter to attack the player. He uses the Scepter of Twilight function to do base-level damage to the player as well as a hidden function for which there currently exists no known scepter (although a sprite for this scepter exists; see the trivia section of the Scepter page) that will create projectiles which explode on contact with the player or the ground. If the Lich is using the regular function, he will summon blue potion particles from his non-scepter-holding hand. If he uses the explosive function, the particles will be orange.

Stage three's objective is to melee the Lich until he dies, at which point all remaining zombies will die similarly and the Lich will drop some Ender Pearls, one of the three types of Scepter, and some golden armor with high-level enchants such as Protection 3. This can be difficult due to the Lich's tendency to teleport around the room and residual zombie minions.

At the very end of the Lich battle when the Lich has only a few hearts left (or perhaps half a heart?), the Lich will use a golden sword to melee attack the player. This stage only lasts for a short period of time, as the Lich will die rapidly due to the very low amount of health he has at this stage of the battle.
