Sortingwood is a type of wood found in Sorting Trees grown from a Sorting Tree Sapling, an item which is currently not obtainable outside of /give or by spawning it in via NEI. Only three Sortingwood and one Sortingwood Engine are obtained per Sorting Tree that is grown. Sortingwood makes up the trunk of the tree along with the Sortingwood Engine.

As with the three other logs that are obtained from "magic trees" (Timewood, Transwood and Minewood) Sortingwood cannot be turned into Wooden Planks via a crafting grid, a Sawmill or an Industrial Sawmill, but is interchangeable with vanilla logs in many recipes such as the Impregnated Casing or the Barrel. Sortingwood can also be used as furnace fuel, lasting for as long as a regular Wooden Plank or a regular log would.
