The Industrial Sawmill is a machine that cuts wood to increase the wood yield from a single log. To function, it must be built in a multi-block structure using 8 Standard Machine Casings and 1 Reinforced Machine Casing.

Construction

The structure should look as follows:

• First layer: 8 Standard Machine Casings in a 3x3 square, 1 Reinforced Machine Casing in the middle
• Second layer: 1 Industrial Sawmill in the middle

Operation

The Industrial Sawmill needs exactly 32 EU/t to operate. Unlike most other IC2 machines, the Industrial Sawmill does not have an internal EU Storage, therefore it has to constantly be supplied with 32 EU/t.

If the machine receives below 32 EU/t, energy is wasted as no progress is made. It is recommended to have a dedicated BatBox for a constant power supply and to make sure there is always enough EU stored to output the required 32 EU/t. An EU-Splitter Cable can be used to control the EU flow.

Note that like most or all GregTech machines the Sawmill can be upgraded; an Energy Storage, Energy Crystal, or Lithium Battery Upgrade would circumvent the need for continuous supply of energy (though the machine may run out of power anyways).

All of the recipes need water, which can be fed into the machine via pipes or supplied manually by placing water bucket or Water Cells in the machine; empty buckets and water cells are returned.

Practical Applications

The Industrial Sawmill is mainly used for getting more wood products out of wood logs, such as Wood Pulp and extra wood planks. It can also be used on Silicon Boules to produce Silicon Wafers, although it is possible to achieve the same with the Handsaw from RedPower 2 at no energy cost.
