The Plate Cutting Machine is a machine in GregTech designed for the express purpose of cutting blocks made of a particular material into plates.

Usage

When blocks of most materials are inserted into the slot, the Plate Cutting Machine will process the item for a period determined by the material used (harder materials will take longer and require more total EU to be cut) and output 9 plates of the respective material if the item is a resource block. It can also process wooden logs of most types to produce 4 planks each, and wooden slabs to produce a single plank of the type of wood.

While this doesn't make any significant difference in output for most blocks aside from perhaps shortening the time required to process 9 ingots into plates (as it only requires 2 steps as opposed to 9), it can also be used to generate plates from materials that cannot normally be processed in the Plate Bending Machine - this includes all forms of precious gem, such as Diamond and Ruby, Redstone, Coal, and Wooden Slabs, and is the only method by which these items and any of their respective products can be made.

The Plate Cutting Machine accepts a maximum of 32 EU per tick and will automatically attempt to output any processed materials into a nearby inventory as with most low tier GregTech machinery.
