The Sonictron is a block which allows for the composition of somewhat complex musical scores. In its GUI, it has 64 "holo-slots" that are modified whenever the player clicks on them. Left-click changes the block type, right-click changes the pitch of the note. Holo-slots are read by the Sonictron from left to right, top to bottom, exactly as one would read sheet music or a book. The Sonictron progresses through the notes at a rate of 1 sound every 2 ticks (every tenth of a second, 10 sounds per second) unless it reaches a Music Disc, in which case it will progress through the entirety of the Music Disc before moving on. Thus, an empty slot will allow for a tenth of a second of delay.

The Sonictron will activate whenever it receives a Redstone signal and then will output a Redstone signal when it completes the entirety of the pattern. If a constant Redstone signal is applied to the Sonictron, it will constantly continue playing.

Songs can be transferred from Sonictron to Sonictron with the use of either a Data Orb or the use of a portable Sonictron.

Sounds[edit]

The Block of Iron makes the same sound as a normal Note Block on the Piano/Harp setting; it starts with a pitch of F#/G♭ and each right click makes it get one half of a note higher. The Block of Gold follows the same principals, but it plays a much louder note. The Stone is the same as a Note Block with the Bass Drum setting (stone-based blocks.)

The rest follow the same pattern, until you reach the music disk. Each right click changes the record. When cycling through the music disks, the songs are as follows:

  1. 13
  2. Cat
  3. Blocks
  4. Chirp
  5. Far
  6. Mall
  7. Mellohi
  8. Stal
  9. Strad
  10. Ward
  11. Wait

Note: the music disks from the Portal Gun Mod cannot be played with the Sonictron.

Also, if you keep powering the Sonictron, when it reaches the end of the cycle it will stop the music.

Blocks that are not full blocks, do not change the sound of a Note Block or are held items and not placeable blocks (TNT, Fire, Flint and Steel, Lava, Water, Ender Pearls, etc.) play the sound of the block/item being placed/used respectively.
